About Me

My photo
I am a 42 year old woman that is about as happy and content as one person can be. My husband of 21 years and our 15 year old daughter live on five and a half acres out in the country. We moved from the city four years ago and never looked back. I homeschool our daughter. We also love our animals. Our daughter has a miniature horse and two rabbits. We also have a border collie, two cats (again), two pot belly pigs, four peafowl, three emus, 2 llamas and an undetermined number of chickens, lets just say ohhh about 200. I have many breeds, from layers to fancy chickens. I love poultry shows, I love fowl in general as I have come to find out through having more than just chickens. Chickens will always be my first love though. I do show some of my birds occasionally.

Night Night, Sweet Dreams

In the evening time as dusk settles over the land...it is almost bedtime for my girls and guys. Bubba is always one of the first to bed down. He likes his solitude on the fence next to the pool deck. Gabby tried to be his bedtime buddy, but after a week of pushing and shoving and generally being disgruntled she retreated back to the chicken house with everyone else. Bubba is the first one to 'yell' (crow) at Ian when he goes out the door in the morning...as he walks past he always gets his morning crow.

I can tell you..when my little ones come in and finish eating and want to snuggle down with me just watching them drift off makes me sleepy headed.

So, tonight..before you go to bed...remember to say night night to Bubba...here he is as I said goodnight to him last night right before dark.

That was cute. I hope his tail feathers are out of reach of that dog. Helen

Awe this is just so cute, his little eyes going shut - his feathers blowing in the breeze gives an awesome effect - great video.

He is such a sweetheart.  Closing his eyes for you and settling down like that.  You have such a way with him.  You can tell they're loved.

Goodnight Bubba,
