About Me

My photo
I am a 42 year old woman that is about as happy and content as one person can be. My husband of 21 years and our 15 year old daughter live on five and a half acres out in the country. We moved from the city four years ago and never looked back. I homeschool our daughter. We also love our animals. Our daughter has a miniature horse and two rabbits. We also have a border collie, two cats (again), two pot belly pigs, four peafowl, three emus, 2 llamas and an undetermined number of chickens, lets just say ohhh about 200. I have many breeds, from layers to fancy chickens. I love poultry shows, I love fowl in general as I have come to find out through having more than just chickens. Chickens will always be my first love though. I do show some of my birds occasionally.

Onto Some Turkeys and Other Stuff

Good afternoon again. I believe I am almost caught up on alerts! I am down to about 50 emails. Been having coffee and quiet time in the mornings with all of you...visiting and catching up..still have more to go, but not an overwhelming amount anymore.

*************************

Well, the predator has taken the bait. There was an empty pan three nights ago, but I kept on putting the birds up that wanted to hang out around outside in the open anyway and putting out more of the recipe. Good thing I did. Last night, I let the guys and gals have their way and stay out perched on their usual spots, BUT I still put out the recipe. Something came again last night. I can tell you it was not the same something. Once the recipe has been eaten there is no way back, so this was yet another sneaky night time predator looking for a fresh chicken buffet. Instead it took the convenient way out and ate the bait. If I hadnt put that out last night, I would have lost more birds as of this morning I know.

**************************

It is in fact going to be warmer today. High of 66 they say...so I dont want to miss out on that. Rain is in the forecast for the next two days so I want to get out and get everyone fixed up before we become a soggy mess again.

**********************

There were so many birds at the show. There was no way I could take pictures of so many...even with there being many of one breed. I just took some pictures of some of my favorites and will share them with you over the coming days.

Today I want to show you some turkeys. This year they have added so much. The turkeys and the geese were a big addition. I really enjoyed seeing them all.

Other than my ramblings up above, there is not really a whole lot to tell about today. Maybe I will have something interesting after being outside for a while today. Enjoy the turkey pics! :)

Well isnt that just dandy...Flickr has gone and done something NEW...and now I dont know what is going on. I cant seem to get a HTML to the photos I uploaded today...so I will see if I can add some later..sigh..

Back again. It was nothing NEW, it says Flickr has the hiccups to please hold on...

Hi Kelly~
Your pictures are so awesome. If you have problems with Flickr, use your Photobucket and then you can post your pics.
I'm so excited you were in the paper!!! How cool!
Sorry I am so behind on alerts but I will get caught up...eventually. :)
