About Me

My photo
I am a 42 year old woman that is about as happy and content as one person can be. My husband of 21 years and our 15 year old daughter live on five and a half acres out in the country. We moved from the city four years ago and never looked back. I homeschool our daughter. We also love our animals. Our daughter has a miniature horse and two rabbits. We also have a border collie, two cats (again), two pot belly pigs, four peafowl, three emus, 2 llamas and an undetermined number of chickens, lets just say ohhh about 200. I have many breeds, from layers to fancy chickens. I love poultry shows, I love fowl in general as I have come to find out through having more than just chickens. Chickens will always be my first love though. I do show some of my birds occasionally.

Correction, New Keet Video and Pics

Last night after I had gone to bed my older sister called me and left a message, She lives in Columbus, and actually works at AFLAC, the building across from Dinglewoods.

I don't know why I thought the Leutenient was dead, but he isnt. BIG OOPS! She said he is about 80, but is a big deal in Columbus and she knew if he had passed on she would have heard about it. I talked to Mama and she said he had retired. Patti says he has a place over near the airport at a kids fun type place. She says he still stops in to Dinglewoods sometimes.

It took me two and a half hours to get this short video to load properly, along with some pictures of the keets I took yesterday evening. They were already settling in for the night so I didnt get any picture of them out roaming. They were roaming this morning with the adults but I was busy filling everyone with fresh water and food for the coming heated day.

I actually got some quality time in with all my babies yesterday as the sun went down. I had cooled down in the pool for awhile, then I got me a chair and sat right out in the middle of everyone. I had two of my old girls drinking drops of water off my shorts as they drip dried. The emus were hanging close. The goats were there as I scratched their backs. I gave Eddie a nice backbone massage...he got that half closed eye look. It must have felt really good. All my gals and guys were hanging around me, we were just all chilling as the sun set. So calm and serene...really nice way to end the day.

Pete was following me around so I took a picture of him. :) He still hasnt got much for butt feathers..but I still think he is a handsome young man.

Time for me to get a shower. I got to drop off some eggs to some neighbors down the road and get to the feed store.

Its really hot out, I hope everyone is staying cool.

It's so humid it's almost foggy here.

I'm so glad that the man isn't dead after all.  He's like that old guy at the Varsity, WHadyahave? They shout when you go in the door.

I just love the way you bond with the newbies right from the start.  So peaceful yes it is.

I tried to upload two videos last week and it took 9 hours.  They are only three minutes and some seconds each.  Look for NELISHIA under Uncut videos or YOUTUBE.

Stay in the air conditioning.

I love that sunset picture, the other pictures also. That video is just two cute. I think on those guineas I had they had a communial nest that several layed in. That is probably why they are hanging around all the adults. It's funny, my son didn't like the guineas when I had them because he said they roosted in a tree close to his window and would wake him up each morning. I talked to him Monday evening and he says they have six themselves now LOL.  Helen

Oh Wow! That is a beautiful sunset picture! Babies are so cute. I would like to have some because they clean your fields from ticks. A good thing! Have a great week. Janie
