About Me

My photo
I am a 42 year old woman that is about as happy and content as one person can be. My husband of 21 years and our 15 year old daughter live on five and a half acres out in the country. We moved from the city four years ago and never looked back. I homeschool our daughter. We also love our animals. Our daughter has a miniature horse and two rabbits. We also have a border collie, two cats (again), two pot belly pigs, four peafowl, three emus, 2 llamas and an undetermined number of chickens, lets just say ohhh about 200. I have many breeds, from layers to fancy chickens. I love poultry shows, I love fowl in general as I have come to find out through having more than just chickens. Chickens will always be my first love though. I do show some of my birds occasionally.

Meet Thelma and Louise

Finally I got some pictures of my two silkies I was able to hatch from Kays eggs she sent me in the mail. It was still a challenge as they wouldn't be still for a moment! Bobbing heads and strutting around exploring. I set them up on the table so they couldnt run off and what did they do? They stared out the window at the outdoors the whole time! It took forever to get them to LOOK at ME!!! LOL They are like live stuffed animals. I pick them up and snuggle them and they love it. You can't have one without the other though. They grew up together and one will cry if she doesnt see her sister.

Kay, if your reading this...both are girls, and I am just in love with them. They will be show prospects for this coming February for sure. They look so good already, and they are still small.

Well here they are, my pretty little girls...

They're so cute. Awww.. that's sweet they cry if they're not with the other. I was raised a city girl so never thought I'd say a chicken was cute, but yours are adorable no wonder you love them so much. They look like cotton balls walking around. I enjoy looking at your pictures. Your journal rocks.
Take care, Chrissie

I like picture #6 and #8........Looking straight into the lens of the camera. I don't think I've ever seen chickens like that though. And never would have thought of chickens as the"cuddling sort". Thanks for sharing~
