About Me

My photo
I am a 42 year old woman that is about as happy and content as one person can be. My husband of 21 years and our 15 year old daughter live on five and a half acres out in the country. We moved from the city four years ago and never looked back. I homeschool our daughter. We also love our animals. Our daughter has a miniature horse and two rabbits. We also have a border collie, two cats (again), two pot belly pigs, four peafowl, three emus, 2 llamas and an undetermined number of chickens, lets just say ohhh about 200. I have many breeds, from layers to fancy chickens. I love poultry shows, I love fowl in general as I have come to find out through having more than just chickens. Chickens will always be my first love though. I do show some of my birds occasionally.

Today is...

My Birthday. :)

At ten after 8 on this day 40 years ago I was born.

Today is also our wedding Anniversary. :)

Nineteen years ago today Ian and I were married. So yes, I got married on my 21st birthday. It wasnt planned that way. We planned on April 29, but the church was being used for another wedding that weekend so we had to move it up to the next weekend. Thats when it fell, so thats when we got married! So I got a wonderful husband for my birthday.

I am fourty, and I must say I am very content. I want for nothing. All my dreams have come true. I have a loving wonderful family. I live out in the country in a wonderful home with all the animals I could ever want.

I am content, yes I am. So when asked what I want for my birthday...I dont really have an answer for that.

What do you give someone that has everything and is content?

I will tell you!

You take her out to eat so she doesnt have to cook supper!

LOL!

So that is what we are doing this evening.

I did get a cochin chick for my birthday. Born today, just a little while ago. The third one of Beasts babies.

What to name a special baby born today. Maybe y'all can help me out with that one? All I can think of is the obvious, Kelly Lynn, or Birthday.

I havent had my coffee yet, so my mind is not fully functional. Thats my excuse and I am sticking to it. ;)

HOLY SMOKES!  Two special events on ONE special day!  Congratulations!  I read this AFTER the email or I would have sent you a congrats through there.  Have a great time out to eat.  I hope they take you someplace special...you deserve it :)  AND I think the baby should be named Kelly!  I wanted to name one of my girls kelly after you since YOU are the reason THEY are here ;)  I was going to ask you permission first tho.  Some people don't like having animals named after them  ie...my niece!! lol  I named my pom cubby rae  rae is her middle name.  She wasn't proud!  lol

Happy Birthday, Kelly. If the chick would have just waited until tomorrow, we could call him Jimmy 'cause May 7th is my birthday. Have a great day !

Happy birthday and happy anniversary to you both. I think you are content because you are easy to please. Too bad more people aren't like that, not reaching for the moon when it is unatainable. I'm so happy for you and your family. Paula P.S. I'm surprised you didn't ask for a bag of chicken chow for your birthday. Just kidding you, you know that.

Happy Belated Birthday and Anniversary. I think it's wonderful to be able to celebrate both on the same day. In a few months I'll be dealing with my 43rd. What a great blessing to have a chick born on the same day. (Hugs) Indigo
