It has been unseasonably cold here. The average low here this time of year is about 50 degrees...highs are supposed to be getting in the lower 70s. Last night it was down to freezing!
Most know by now, I dont do cold weather. Hate it. It makes me sleep. Curl up in a ball and become very unproductive.
So this morning, for the first time in weeks, my shoulders are not hurting me when I get too still, such as when I try to sleep. I think it is bursitis. The only thing I could do is ice it and take Ibuprofin. I lost a lot of sleep. That was getting me down too.
I got rest last night, six full hours of no pain and restful sleep. The sun was making the sky pink at around 6:40 and I didnt have any urge to go lay back down. I had already had one cup of coffee, let the dog out, fed her, and went out to let the chickens and goats out. As I was doing this, here come the three emus from the back corner of the property where they have decided to sleep, against my better judgement as a emu parent. ;)
I think I am snapping out of this fog. I am going to go in a little bit and get some gas in the can and get out there and do some mowing. I love to sit on my mower (yes, MY mower) and ride and smell that fresh cut grass, even the wild onion smell is nice.
For anyone that has found myjournal during the winter, I do the yard work, all of it. I love it. I guess its my Daddys blood coming out in me.
Ian does the garden though, I suck at gardening, only because I dont dedicate myself to it, I spend more time chickening that gardening. I do the tomatoes, he does the rest.
I know I have been slack in journaling, going to journals, and taking pictures and video. That happens to me sometimes. When I first started journaling..that journal is deleted now, but when I first started journaling...I disappeared from May til about October or something like that...lol. I felt overwhelmed when I saw I had over 500 emails, most alerts. I am not going to lie. I am too far behind to catch up on everybody, soI deleted everything, and starting from the email alerts I get today.
If the weather is warm, you better believe I am outside. As I say this...Iam going now to get the tags for the vehicles, get a birthday card and send it off for Ians dad, and get some gas in the can.
You all have a fantastic day. Hopefully I can come back here tomorrow morning with some video and pictures. The emus and goats are really frisky and make me laugh with their crazy antics. Hopefully I can get some good video and shots of them today while I am out there mowing and doing stuff. :)

Ken cut the grass or the back anyway yesterday. I used to keep the yards all cut until this back got so bad then we hired it done for several years. Now that Ken has retired he has started cutting it. Saves a lot of $$$. I just hope he can hold out to do it since it will be so hot later. I did get a couple of my potting plants put in different containers this morning then had to quit on account of the backache. I went online and got some water pillows which helps the neck and shoulder pain
tremendously. You have to try different amounts of water to get the desired amount. Have a good afternoon. Hugs, Helen
Our yard is too wet yet to even start to mow--and the mower I use is MINE also It's a zero turn cub cadet and I love it-I love flying over hill and dale with it.When we first got it I had to learn how to use it-no steering wheel-just handles sticking in front of you,but I wouldn't go back to the other kind now,I ran over some border rocks and ruined a tire the first day and it goes flat all the time.
About e-mails---
I deleted all from mine the other day ,also-I had 1001 and I thought geez-some tags stuff I saved on AOL in a place I call Haven't seen yet, and AOL said I had to verfiy if I was to get more space to save stuff--ooops.Oh well I'm back up to 141 and counting,LOL.
Gotta go do dishes. One of these days I'm going to dissppear and do spring cleaning-I doubt I will be missed,LOL
Take care

Kelly one day I am wearing short then like today flannel pants and a sweatshirt, north Tx weather is being weird also.
I love to mow also...I have to wait until after all the spring grass pollen is lower or my allergy pills kick in really good. My hubby mowed all day Sunday while I put mulch around. I want the warm sunshine on my shoulders as I ride the mower, now I hate to weedeat and the hubby is into perfection so he has to do that.

I can't get over this cold weather either and I must be a sister as I just don't do cold. It hurts. I got double layered dressed both myself and Katie this morning and by the time we were finished around lunch, it was so hot we were miserable. I love the yard work too. We need to reseed the front yard and I need to till the ground for a garden. We'll have to rent a tiller. I love my flowers and veggies and hope to have the same again this year.
Enjoy yourself and have a very productive day and thank you for your private emails as you make me happy,

I totally understand your overwhelmed feeling seeing all of those alerts, that is how I feel too. I am really behind again and it will only get worse when spring gets here...if it does! I hope you are feeling better soon.

Happy mowing. I use to do all of it too in my younger days. Now I just do what I can. Hope your emus do eat fire ants. Paula
This weather has been weird. Looking forward to the next few days though. It's supposed to be warming up. Have a good evening.

Journaling isn't a job; it isn't real life. You obviously have good priorities, and when you get the time, you'll be here.
WHy Kelly! Your to busy answering all my questions that's why you don't have any time! lol I'm almost done! lol I promise! OH well I better take that promise back...I will prob have a TONS once the chickens actually get here May 22 or 23. YES, I got them to up the date! :) I just had to cut one of the white giants to have them send them a week earlier. I can deal with that!
The weather is definitely wonky! This time of year in NY it's a balmy 60-65, after all it's spring weather. Today it was 87 outside. I had to look at the calendar and make sure it was still April and I didn't sleep through Spring. Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying it, just worry about the long term effects of weather like this. Question for you regarding the silkies...we recently purchased a partridge silkie rooster and the lady had him on wire, which destroyed his foot feathers. I was told to pull them and they would grow back in within 6-8 weeks...however, it is harder than it looks and I do not want to hurt him. Any suggestions on how to get them out with some ease and not have to pull so hard?
You sound like my daughter. lol She tells me she has 1000 emails!! I am over whelmed with 65 !!! lol Hope you have a great week. Janie
